The Holiday Drink – A Recipe

WHere is an easy version of a drink from a new drinks list. Designed as a batch prepared mix that is packed full of tastes associated with Christmas time, which makes it excellent for a holiday party. Save the extra cordial you can use for breakfast cocktails, desserts, or to make additional servings of the drink.

Bikini Recipe

Yields 10 servings

Ingredients for the Citrus Syrup (makes 750ml)

300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

To make the Premix (produces 850ml, enough for 10)

400ml good quality vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml clementine syrup (see above)
Fresh cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing

Method

To prepare the Cordial: Combine all the items in a saucepan, heat until it reaches a simmer, agitating until the sugar dissolves. After that, take off the burner allowing it to cool fully. Decant to a sealable bottle, close it keeping it in the fridge, where it will keep for about four weeks.

For the Cocktail Base: Pour every spirits and syrup in a big jug, let it rest for one hour, then filter it best through muslin, so it's fully clarified.

For serving: Add 85ml of your cocktail base into your mixing glass containing ice, and stir gently for a minute until cold. Strain into a cold coupe glass or similar, top with a few cranberries and complete it using a brief mist of mandarin oil above the glass.
